Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on Daily Tern ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Daily Tern is a personal paper service that aggregates content from your configured sources (RSS feeds, calendars, email newsletters, and web pages) into a daily paper for offline reading.

3. Account and Access

Accounts are created via invite only. Your account is identified by a unique Account ID — there are no passwords. You are responsible for keeping your Account ID secure. Do not share it publicly.

Each account is limited to 50 content sources. Accounts are for individual use; automated or shared access is not permitted.

4. User Content and Data Sources

You are responsible for the content sources you configure. The Service fetches publicly available content on your behalf. You must have the right to access any content you configure as a source.

The Service does not claim ownership of any content fetched from your sources. Generated papers are produced for your personal use only.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to aggregate content you do not have the right to access
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or source limits
  • Share or redistribute generated papers commercially
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Use automated tools to create accounts or bypass invite requirements

6. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, timely paper generation, or availability of any particular content source. Paper generation depends on the availability of your configured sources.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time via your profile settings. Account deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period during which you may cancel the request. After the grace period, all your data (sources, preferences, generated papers, and delivery records) will be permanently deleted.

You may export your data at any time before deletion. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

8. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and effective date. You will be notified of changes when you next log in and will be asked to accept the updated terms to continue using the Service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abuse of the Service. You may delete your account at any time.
